Ah good morning/Afternoon bloggers, just dropping in for the moment. I'm a little busy writing up/finishing off an article on a remarkable woman called Suzanne Hook. Seriously amazing! Google her you won't be disappointed : I may carry it after its been written. watch this space-it is a fairly long article though!

Its for an assignment/project for family and its 1000 words =/ So its taken a piece to write! lol

In the meantime feel free to take this:

Britney Spears-Whiteout(2010)Rating: 3/5By Sarah Campbell

Britney Spears is a woman who needs no introduction. With her life constantly reported in the media, it is no marvel that in her last offering Spears described her spirit as a Circus. In her latest offering Spears looks to reinvent herself again and go out from the showgirl theme of 2008 and instead harks back to a similar dance orientated sound of 2006s Blackout. Which is more than probable the place considering the style of Spears seventh album.Starting the album with the gameboy esqe introduction Get Back which leads into the heavily innuendo laced dance track When You Gon Pull It and the quick paced, dance orientated theme is set for the bulk of the whole album. With tracks such as Kiss You All Over,What You Sipping and Sugarfall, Spears hasnt lost her tried and tested combination of sex fuelled lyrics, raspy vocals and (inevitably) sexy dance moves. However, unlike Blackout and Circus, the pop/rnB/electronica mixture on Whiteout isnt as immediately memorable tracks, unlike Blackouts Gimmie More or Womanizer as featured on Circus.Rather its after the third or fourth listen of the album that you start to value the more subtle tracks like the Fiona Apple esqe Let Go or the rather simply composed acoustic track Just Yesterday. There isnt unfortunately enough tracks like this though as a whole. The more subtle, darker sounds of tracks like Baby Boy are a welcome respite from the sometime monotonous tracks like the 80s, synth tracks like State of Grace, which with Spears voice sound overly sugary and grates after first hour or so into the song.Whiteout as an album has a simple enough mission statement: announce that Britney is back. With a different, fresh, sound and new image. In this, the album both fails and succeeds- it neither is big enough or bold enough to warrant the loud return that the album will always result yet at the same time it is a different and unique enough sound to warrant Spears change in direction. With Whiteout Spears has a quite dark, fast paced album which on first listen, isnt immediately engaging- however this album definitely remains a grower, leaving an impression after a just few listens.

I've gotta split for my lecture! 'cuse the rush! talk to ya soon! xxo*Article edited 20/10/10-appologies for the serious spelling errors!
